Case Study | Maintenance | Culinary School Resolves Drainage Issues and Eliminates Sewer Flies with ecoSTORM

A culinary school located in a commercial building was struggling with drainage back-ups and an infestation of sewer flies due to slow moving drains filled with thick grease build-up. To address the problem, the building management required the school to implement a drain maintenance program.

The school initially tried maintenance using conventional high-pressure jetting method, but it proved ineffective, leading to frequent pest control costs.

NCH stepped in with a comprehensive solution by installing ecoSTORM on the main drain line. We first cleared the build-up using ND66 for thorough de-clogging, then maintained the system with ecoSTORM. This innovative solution effectively reduced fats, oils, and grease (FOG) and organic waste accumulation in the drainpipes, minimizing clogs and eliminating the food source and breeding ground for sewer flies. As a result, the school successfully removed odors, back-ups, and pest issues, ensuring a cleaner and healthier kitchen environment.
