Food Safety

What is Food Safety?

Food Safety is a scientific discipline describing the handling, preparation and storage of food in ways that prevent food-borne illnesses. This includes a number of food safety and hygiene routines that need to be followed in order to avoid potentially severe health hazards and stay in line with food safety legislation. Strict food safety training is to be followed to guarantee that all food safety and hygiene measures are correct.

The Food Safety business is required to have Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), which is a quality assurance system aimed at ensuring that products are consistently manufactured, packed, repacked and held in order to certify that the quality is appropriate for the intended use. GMP is concerned with both manufacturing and quality control procedures, while also consistently ensuring that the relevant industries keep food safety and hygiene practices free from illnesses and health hazards.

To make sure food-manufacturing companies are following Good Food Manufacturing Practices (GMP), they are required to implement Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP), which are generally documented steps that must be followed to ensure adequate cleaning of product contact and non-product surfaces. These food safety and hygiene cleaning procedures must be detailed enough to make sure that certain adulterations of products do not occur. To find out more about our SSOP practices, click here.

Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP)’s is in conjunction with the Master Sanitation Schedule and Pre-Operational Inspection Program, which forms the entire sanitation operational guidelines for food-related processes. This is the primary backbone of all food industry HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) plans.

NCH Food Safety will provide training to food manufacturing companies to comply with food safety law, and adopt H.A.C.C.P principle for safe production of food by using our cleaning chemicals and providing equipment as part of their prerequisite program in establishing their H.A.C.C.P Manual.
