Article | NCH India PLOGGO Campaign 2022

NCH India, which is a 100% subsidiary of NCH Corporation, USA, established in 1919 in Texas, specialising in cleaning water and conserving energy as part of its CSR activity, carried out a PLOGGO campaign in Chennai on November 26, 2022, at the Tower Park in Anna Nagar.

PLOGGO means picking up garbage and trash while jogging.

The active team members picked up garbage enthusiastically, with many onlookers and members of the public witnessing and supporting the plogging activity.

The exercise was a big success, with a large amount of trash collected from the park.

We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to contribute our bit to a clean environment around us.

The campaign was carried out by a team of approximately 36 employees from NCH India in Chennai.

Our country manager, Mr. Christy Mani N, and our operations manager, Mr. Prabhu A, shared their valuable thoughts during the event.

The PLOGGO campaign has already been carried out by NCH teams in Korea, China, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore as well.

NCH India takes pride in joining the rest of its sister countries in carrying out this plogging activity.

Furthermore, the hospital had been disinfecting with chlorine before discharge into the sanitary sewer. This method also causes the death of beneficial bacteria, slowing the breakdown of waste. As a result, the hospital encountered considerable challenges related to the environment, time, equipment, and data.
