Germs and bacteria can hide underneath dirt and other items on surfaces. Before any sanitization takes place, these areas must be cleaned and tidied.

Step 2: Disinfection

Disinfecting highly-trafficked areas will help minimize the spread of COVID-19, as well as many other viruses and bacteria which can pose a risk. You should prioritize cleaning and disinfecting:

• High-traffic areas: these will often feature doorknobs, security keypads, and elevator buttons.
• High-risk areas: these are areas where germs are easily spread, such as handrails and public bathrooms.
• High-safety areas – like food preparation and handling areas.

Step 3: Sanitization

This process is not a one-time thing, and you must be consistently cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing for the best results. These priority areas should be regularly sanitized to keep the area as hostile to germs and bacteria as possible, reducing the occurrence of microorganisms.
